Kayla Jaconette

Kayla is a competing member of our Western Team, and she is an Open and Reining rider. She also serves as Co-President and Western Vice President. Get to know a little bit more about Kayla below!

Where are you from and why did you choose Auburn?

I am from Lithia Springs, Georgia. I chose Auburn because of their great College of Agriculture, the beautiful campus, and the IHSA Team.

What year are you & what are you studying?

I am a senior studying Animal Science Production and Management.

How long have you been riding?

I have been riding since I was 6 years old, I actually learned how to ride by doing Saddle Seat.

What are some things you enjoy other than riding?

Outside of riding, I really enjoy hanging out with friends from the team and doing anything that involves animals. One thing people don't know about me is that I have a passion for exotic hoof-stock animals like giraffes and zebras and would like to be a zookeeper.

What is your favorite thing about Auburn/ the team?

My favorite thing about college has been all of the people that I have met throughout the years. On the team, I remember looking up to the seniors as a freshman and could not wait to fill their shoes. Now I'm in my senior year doing what they did and I couldn't be happier!
